Bell-Whitley Community Action Agency has a wide variety of programs that serves both Bell and Whitley County. Programs serve a wide range of needs from early childhood development to home ownership.   • CSBG: Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) funds support efforts to identify, reduce or eliminate the causes of poverty and to help solve problems that block the achievement of economic self-sufficiency.

  • Head Start / Early Head Start: Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs which serve pregnant women and children from birth to five years of age.

  • Housing: Bell-Whitley CCA's Housing Initiatives assists low-income families to qualify to become homeowners and assist current homeowners with rehabilitation projects.

  • JobSight: Eastern Kentucky's JobSight brings more than a dozen partners including state and federal employment and training programs together under one roof to meet the needs of eastern Kentucky's job seekers and employers.

  • Weatherization: The Weatherization Program seeks to improve the energy efficiency of low-income households by services such as insulating, replacing doors, windows and other types of cost saving measures.

  • WIA: The Workforce Investment Act provides assistance to both adults and youth in areas such as paid training, tuition assistance, job search and employer search, and other areas to help in the training and placement of individuals

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

* Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. 

*Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Must possess ability to work effectively with public.

* Must possess excellent computer skills. Must be able to learn and use specific software programs as directed. 

* Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to prove insurability by agency insurance carrier. 

* Must have ability to assess customer needs, make referrals and compile reports via several software applications. 

* Must pass a criminal background check and chemical dependency test.

Head Start Teacher at Pineville - Thursday, August 06, 2015
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

*     Should have an Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education Degree (IECE). 

§  Agency prefers, in the absence of an IECE degree, a Probationary IECE certificate. 

§  Must have, in the absence of an IECE degree, a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education (P-4 or P-5) and willing to obtain IECE certification within a time period to be determined on date of hire. 

 *     Prefer experience working with pre-school children. 

 *     Must pass a TB skin test, chemical dependency test, physical exam and a criminal record check.

 *     Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to prove insurability by agency insurance carrier and have reliable transportation.

Head Start Bookkeeper - Pineville Main Office - Monday, August 03, 2015
Minimum Qualifications:   

 *Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. 

*Should have extensive knowledge of budget accounting. 

*Must possess adequate computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. 

*Must be able to work under pressure of deadlines. 

*Must possess needed office skills. 

*Additional consideration will be given for prior experience working with a non-profit agency. 

*Must pass a TB risk assessment, physical exam, chemical dependency test, central registry check, and criminal record check. 

*Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to prove insurability by agency insurance carrier and have reliable transportation.

Bell-Whitley CAA, Inc. is taking applications for a Head Start Family Advocate position in our Williamsburg Office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer experience in Social Work or similar experience.
• Must pass a TB risk assessment or test, chemical dependency test, criminal records check, central registry check and physical examination.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a valid CDL license or must be willing to obtain CDL within a specified time period and be insurable.
• Adequate computer skills required.
