Bell-Whitley Community Action Agency has a wide variety of programs that serves both Bell and Whitley County. Programs serve a wide range of needs from early childhood development to home ownership. Below is a list of programs that we offer. If you are interested in receiving more information about one of our programs or would like information contact the closest Bell-Whitley CAA office.

  • CSBG: Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) funds support efforts to identify, reduce or eliminate the causes of poverty and to help solve problems that block the achievement of economic self-sufficiency.

  • Head Start / Early Head Start: Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs which serve pregnant women and children from birth to five years of age.

  • Housing: Bell-Whitley CCA's Housing Initiatives assists low-income families to qualify to become homeowners and assist current homeowners with rehabilitation projects.

  • Weatherization: The Weatherization Program seeks to improve the energy efficiency of low-income households by services such as insulating, replacing doors, windows and other types of cost saving measures.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE

 September 7, 2016 

Bell-Whitley CAA, Inc. is taking applications for part time LIHEAP Workers in Bell and Whitley Counties.  The Home Energy Assistance Program begins on November 1st, 2016 and ends on December 9th, 2016.   

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

·         Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

·         Must have some office skills including the use of
adding machines, copiers, and other
office equipment.  Computer knowledge a plus.

·         Must have reliable transportation. 

·         Must possess good written and oral
communication skills. 

·         Must be currently unemployed. 

·         Must be 18 years of age or older. 

·         Must have legible handwriting and printing. 

·         Must be able to understand written guidelines. 

·         Must treat all information about clients and
the agency in a confidential manner. 

·         Must be well-groomed to meet the general public.   

 DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:   

 ·         Working well with clients and coworkers. 

·         Determining the eligibility of clients. 

·         Completion of client applications, vouchers,
rosters, etc. 

 ·         Logging in of clients

129 Pine Street, or the Williamsburg Office at 799 North Hwy 25-W

Head Start Teacher Position at Middlesboro - Tuesday, September 06, 2016

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

*     Should have an Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education Degree (IECE).  
§  Agency prefers, in the absence of an IECE degree, a Probationary IECE certificate.
§  Must have, in the absence of an IECE degree, a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education (P-4 or P-5) and willing to obtain IECE certification within a time period to be determined on date of hire. 

*     Prefer experience working with pre-school children. 

*     Must pass a TB skin test, chemical dependency test, physical exam and a criminal record check.

*     Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to prove insurability by agency insurance carrier and have reliable transportation.

Minimum Qualifications:
  •  High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  •  Prefer experience in Social Work or similar experience. 
  • Must pass a TB risk assessment or test, chemical dependency test, criminal records check, central registry check and physical examination.
  •  Must possess a valid driver's license and a valid CDL license or must be willing to obtain CDL within a specified time period and be insurable. 
  • Adequate computer skills required.
